Devon Parish

Devon Parish has always been expressing herself through movement. She trained in classical ballet and modern dance for over twenty years, at times performing professionally, and loves it still. It took a persistent injury and some persuasive friends to finally draw her to the yoga mat in 2011. She soon found not only healing, but a new passion. In 2014, she completed her 200 hour training through the Boston Yoga School under the guidance of Ame Wren and an array of guest faculty that included Kevin Courtney, Allison Sinatra, and Josh Summers. She did additional training in Yin Yoga and Functional Anatomy with Joe Barnett in 2015. Devon has taught in studios, gyms, community centers, churches and parks in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. Her teaching is rooted in the vinyasa style of linking breath and movement. Devon values intelligent sequencing that empowers students to challenge themselves while staying safe and not taking themselves too seriously. She believes that our bodies have a great deal to teach our minds, if only we could learn how to listen. With that in mind, she hopes to offer a yoga that is as effective in the world as it is on the mat.
